How to Checkout Using a Credit Card

Once you’ve reached the Payment Method Screen, the Credit Card tab is preselected in the left hand column. If you would like to run a credit card for less than the full Order total, tap the backspace button on the credit card number pad in the center of the screen. Then enter the amount to be charged to the credit card using the numbers on the number pad. Select the green "Card" Button at the bottom of the screen to complete the transaction.

Manual

If you select Manual, and your terminal supports input from the Vital Select app, you will be taken to a screen where you will be able to enter the full card number, the CVV, and expiration date along with additional AVS information like Zip Code and Street Address.

Note:

If you select Manual, you must then select the green Card button and follow the steps associated with your specific terminal to complete the Manual Entry transaction.

If the card does not read and Manual Entry is needed, you will press the green “Card” button as if conducting a standard transaction. Once the terminal displays the charge amount, you will enter the card information on the screens indicated below.

For the Vital Select Users:
  1. Press the green "Card" button on the POS tender screen, as if conducting a standard transaction.
  2. Enter the card data on the customer-facing (smaller) screen by pressing the keyboard icon in the lower right corner.

For the Vital Select Users:
  1. Press the green "Card" button on the POS tender screen, as if conducting a standard transaction.
  2. Enter the card data on the Pin Pad (S300) by keying in the card number with the numeric keys.

After you have input the Card information and selected the Next button, the Add tip screen will appear.

The customer can then choose a tip option from one of the following: 15%, 20%, 25%, No Tip, or enter a Custom amount.

After choosing a Tip amount and selecting the Next button the Conformation screen will appear. The customer will be presented with the total tendered amount and will select either the Confirm button or the Cancel button. The Confirm button will process the transaction, while the Cancel button will return the user to the Payment Method screen.

One the transaction has processed the Signature screen will appear. The customer will sign then select the Next button to proceed to the Receipt selection screen.

Note:

The Tip and Signature screen will only appear when in Retail tipping mode

Once the transaction is processed and you are brought to the Receipt Screen, select whether you’d like to Print a Receipt, Email a Receipt, or press the All Done Button to dismiss the screen. Swipe or EMV

If you select Card, you must have a terminal configured and properly connected with Vital Select app. When you select the Card Button, the Vital Select app sends pertinent transaction information to your terminal. Follow the steps associated with your specific terminal to complete the transaction.
