Inventory Tracking

Enabling Inventory Tracking allows you to input the exact number of each Item you have on hand, and track every time you sell a Item through your point-of-sale. You can also turn on low quantity alerts so you know when it’s time to restock your Items. This feature ensures that you don’t try to sell a Item you no longer have on hand by alerting you of the fact that the item is low on quantity or out of stock.

To turn on Inventory Tracking, first login to the Portal and select Store Setup on the left side of the Navigation Menu, and then choose Store Operations from the listings. On the Store Operations Page, scroll down to the Business Options Panel. To enable Track Inventory, check the box next to “Track quantities for selected products.” You also have the options to allow the sale of Items when the quantity is zero and to turn on low quantity alerts by checking the corresponding boxes. When you check the box for low quantity alerts, the text box below it becomes available to fill in. In this box, enter the number for which you would like to start receiving a warning that inventory is low. Click the Save Button in the Business Options Panel to save your changes.

Note:

It is important to note than tracking Items is Location-specific, so if your business has multiple Locations, you will need to first select which Location you want to enable tracking for your Items. This is done by clicking the locations tab located on the top of the screen and selecting a location from the dropdown that appears.

Next, you need to enter the amount of inventory you have on hand for each Item you would like to track. To do this, select Items on the left side of the Navigation Menu, and then choose Item Library from the listings. Once you are on the Item Settings Page, you will see your Items listed in multiple tables, depending on how you have organized them. In each table, there is a column named Track Qty. To enable a Item for tracking, check the box next to the text box in the Track Qty column for that Item. Then enter the amount of the Item you have on hand in the text box. To disable tracking for that Item, simply uncheck the box. When you are done editing, click the Save Button in the top right corner of the screen.

Now as you sell the Items you set up for tracking, the number on the Item Settings Page will decrease. If the amount on hand hits the low quantity limit you set in the Portal, it will trigger the low quantity warning on your point-of-sale.
