How to Assign Modifiers to Items

When you add Items to an Order in the Vital Select app, you have the option to add Modifiers to the Items. For example, if a customer orders a chicken sandwich, and they would like to add cheese or bacon to it, that would be considered a Modifier. Before this can happen you need to Add Modifiers and assign them to the specific Items in the Merchant Portal so that you can add the Modifiers to Items in the POS app.

To assign a Modifier to an Item start by Selecting Items on the left side of the Navigation Menu, and then choose Item Library under the listings. Locate the Item that you would like to assign Modifiers to and click the edit button represented by a pencil on the left side of the Item name. This will direct you to the Edit Item page.

On the Edit Item page scroll down until you see the Edit How This Item Will Be Used section, and then locate the Modifiers field under the listings. Select the option box below the Modifiers field and choose one or more options from the dropdown menu. Once finished, select the Save button located at the top or bottom right of the screen. To cancel this process at any time, select the Cancel button at the top or bottom right side of the page.

Note:

You may also assign Modifiers to multiple Items at one time on the Edit Modifiers page.
